Matching white oak to existing ash treads

We had challenging task this week. We were asked to match a white oak floor to some stained ash treads. The tricky part is that ash is a very yellow wood and white oak is very gray. On top of that the treads were stained with a wiping stain, which we can’t use on a floor, so we had to pull a few tricks out of the bag. We have to wait on the last coat.
